Volunteer with Gulfside

Hospice Care PatientVolunteers play an integral role on the Gulfside Regional Hospice care team, providing care and compassion to all of our patients every day. Gulfside’s volunteers start at age 16 and go all the way into their late 90s! Volunteers complete a two-day orientation training program that includes information about hospice as well as how to effectively listen and communicate with our patients. Office and Thrift Shoppe volunteers complete a three-hour program that includes more specific information about those areas.

We offer a variety of volunteer positions through our organization, such as:
• Assisting at our Centers for Hospice Care and Hospice House
• Visiting with patients and families receiving hospice care
• Providing support to patients at the very end-of-life (Gift of Presence)
• Offering respite care to provide caregivers a needed break
• Making grief support calls through Gulfside’s Telephone Assurance Program
• Bringing your specially trained dog or pet to brighten the day of our patients
• Providing administrative support, such as answering phones, data entry and filing
• Building repairs and refurbishment, painting and landscaping
• Staffing all five Gulfside Regional Hospice Thrift Shoppes, using skills such as merchandising, cashiering and customer service
• Planning and participating in special events and fundraising activities

The possibilities are endless for a Gulfside Regional Hospice volunteer. Fill out our online volunteer application by clicking here. And check out the events calendar for when the next volunteer training class will be held, or call 1-800-561-4883 for more information.
